This time of year is always hectic—and I definitely don’t make it easier on myself by starting a business. Between my full-time government job, my side job, and now the Only Gem Fans shop, life is busy in the best way. Even with the long nights and countless hours listing products, researching on YouTube, and learning everything I can, it’s all truly a labor of love. There’s something about this season that makes the hard work feel lighter. Maybe it’s the glow of the lights, the spirit of giving, or the way love seems to settle a little deeper into our homes and hearts. Christmas has always reminded me to slow down just enough to appreciate the beauty around me—family, faith, purpose, and the joy of creating something meaningful. As I move closer to retirement, I’m grateful to be building something I love and preparing for the day when I can pour my whole heart into my Etsy shop.
